NEW FOR 2026 CURRENTLY VERY LIMITED
CURRENTLY OUR PLANTS HAVE SOLID WHITE CENTRES AND NO MISTING
This is a stable sport out of Hosta Emperor's New Clothes. Hosta Emperor's New Clothes is an unstable sport out of Hosta Empress Wu. Emperor's New Clothes comes up mostly white with blue and green splashes and speckles, turning mostly green by late summer. Emperor's New Clothes is difficult to reproduce with many stabilizing out to a form with a green speckled margin and white misted centres. This stable form has now been named and reproduced more reliably as Hosta Frog in My Throat. Leaves are 6 inches wide, 9 inches long, 13-14 vein pairs, ovate, moderately wavy, and deeply twisted and folded overall. Registered by Hans Hansen of Walters Gardens Inc in 2024.
Our plants have white centres and 2 tones of green in the margin. There are a few misted sections in the margin on some plants only but most have no green flecking.
Walters Gardens Inc. advertises their plants as having green speckled margins and white misted centres. By late summer the whitish centres become much more green.
