Seedling of Invincible from I. LaLonde and Naylor Creek, 2007. A very distinct hosta with an incredibly shiny lacquer like finish on both the top and the bottom of the leaves. Leaves are very dark green with a pie crust rippled margin, deep veining and good substance. Leaves are 13"long by 9 "wide, lightly wavy and ovate. Forms a vase shaped clump. Due to its plantaginea parentage, it exhibits some sun tolerance and produces 3 " fragrant, lavender flowers on 45" scapes in mid - August, sets viable seed. Beautiful plant to use as contrast to surrounding variegated or blue hostas to make both of them stand out. We have one growing in a pot and it is absolutely stunning and huge.
