WHITE FEATHER

White Feather
Hosta Description

Sport of H. undulata  from G. Heemskerk, 2005.  Comes up totally white in the spring, turning misted green with green veins. Many leaves desiccate before they get a chance to turn misted green, leaving a ratty appearance to the plant.  New leaves come up green in the summer.  Leaves 2 inches wide by 6 inches long, lance shaped.  Lavender flowers in the first 2 weeks of July. Many people call asking for this plant expecting it to stay beautifully white through out the season and are being mislead by some internet photos. This hosta is a challenge to find a location in your garden where it will grow well and not desiccate too badly. Interesting for a collector. A better growing version of this hosta is H. White Wall Tire.
